Description:
Set in 1977 France, “Potiche” is a satirical comedy that follows Suzanne Pujol (Catherine Deneuve), a submissive housewife who steps in to manage her husband’s umbrella factory after he is taken hostage by striking workers. To everyone’s surprise, Suzanne proves to be a competent and assertive leader, challenging traditional gender roles and societal expectations. Directed by François Ozon, the film features a stellar cast, including Gérard Depardieu as Maurice Babin, a former union leader and Suzanne’s ex-lover, adding layers of personal and political intrigue to this delightful narrative.
