Thursday, February 6, 1:00 pm
Presented By: Catamount Arts
Thursday, Feb. 6, 1:00-2:30pm
Location:
Catamount Arts Center
115 Eastern Ave.
St. Johnsbury, VT
Instructor: Christine Nockels
Fairy houses, doll houses, toy castles and block building; children are naturally drawn towards building miniature dwellings in dynamic play.
In this class, we will explore interior spaces. What do we use every day in our homes and schools and how can we discover new ways to incorporate new ideas into our play? What is wallpaper and how is it made? What could WE use to make it? What are the different shapes and textures of the materials we sleep on and how do we make them up from our imagination?
Children will be presented with a wide variety of materials, natural and man made, and encouraged to think of a place they want to build where the only limits are their imaginations. The adult instructor will be there to assist with materials, but the kids are encouraged to work as independently as possible, to use their imaginations and to help build fine motor skills.
Class fee: $20 (10% discount for Catamount Arts members). Catamount Arts is committed to offering quality arts experiences for all students, regardless of ability to pay; please call Anne at 802-748-2600 ext. 109 for information about scholarship funds.
