London’s Kingdom Choir is best known for their show-stopping gospel-infused performance of Stand By Me at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. More than two billion people watched, instantly catapulting the Choir to worldwide fame.

Formed of individual singers and performers from in and around London, England, The Kingdom Choir is a group of like-minded artists dedicated to creating a sound that demonstrates the community they share. The Kingdom Choir has been performing up and down the country and all around the world for more than 20 years.

Over this time, the choir has become known for its united sound, warm energy and enthusiastic performance. Led by one of the UK’s most respected gospel tutors and choir conductors Karen Gibson. The Kingdom Choir is a sterling example of the unity within the British gospel community.

‘Their canny programme of gospel-style pop has distinct crossover appeal. Some of their material is explicitly inspired by gospel (Beyoncé’s Halo, Jill Scott’s Golden, the Isley Brothers’ Harvest for the World, the Aretha Franklin medley); other songs are secular gospel anthems (Bob Dylan’s Make You Feel My Love or John Legend’s All of Me). The most effective cover versions completely transform the originals – an arrangement of Coldplay’s Fix You is packed with audacious chord changes that Chris Martin couldn’t have dreamed of, while the devotional core of Stormzy’s Blinded By Your Grace is amplified impressively.”

“For the few godless folks in this packed crowd, it is those full-throated vocal power and ecstatic harmonies on belters such as Let It Shine that really get the spine tingling and convey a sense of the numinous.” – London Guardian
