“Queer” is a period romantic drama set in 1950s Mexico City, directed by Luca Guadagnino and based on the novella by William S. Burroughs. The film follows William Lee (Daniel Craig), an American expatriate leading a solitary life amidst a small American community. His existence takes a turn upon meeting Eugene Allerton (Drew Starkey), a younger man who becomes the object of his infatuation. As Lee’s obsession deepens, the narrative explores themes of desire, isolation, and the search for connection.
