Description:
The Hedgehog (2009) is a touching French drama-comedy based on Muriel Barbery’s acclaimed novel The Elegance of the Hedgehog. The film tells the story of Paloma, an intelligent but disillusioned 11-year-old girl, who plans to end her life on her 12th birthday. As she observes and critiques her bourgeois surroundings, she befriends Renée, the reclusive concierge of her apartment building, and Kakuro, a cultured Japanese neighbor. These relationships lead Paloma to rethink her outlook on life, offering a poignant exploration of friendship, art, and the search for meaning.
